Below is an overview of the services and programs CITY WIDE CLUB provides serving the Greater Houston Metropolitan area including, Montgomery, Fort Bend, Chambers, Galveston and Brazoria Counties. City Wide Club is best known for its Annual Events however we are committed to serving the community on a daily basis through our Program Services.  Your support is needed.

  • Information and Referral
    Telephone information center that provides referrals to over 70,000 callers each year needing housing, utility assistance, food, child care, medical care, counseling, and substance abuse treatment.

  • Counseling Services
    Offers volunteer telephone support and referrals for those needing assistance in coping with problems and challenges of everyday life in the areas related to drug abuse, alcohol abuse, personal stress, child/parental abuse, suicide prevention and family matters.

  • Job Referral/Placement
    Matches potential employees with employers who are seeking applicants with like or similar job skills, education and/or experience.

  • Housing/Shelter Referrals
    While some may qualify for our Family Recovery Center, others are provided telephone referrals for temporary housing or shelter throughout the metropolitan area.

  • Family Recovery Center
    Provides room and board for individuals who are faced with physical, mental and substance abuse challenges.  Providing a safe and wholesome environment while preparing them for the future.

  • Transportation
    Seeks to provide Bus Tokens and Transportation Vouchers for those needing transportation to doctor’s appointments and job interviews.

  • Food Vouchers
    Qualified recipients are provided a voucher that can be used at a specified location to purchase, food, household items, cleaning supplies and etc. – (can be used for anything other than alcohol or tobacco or related products).

  • Financial Assistance
    Provides emergency assistance for rent, utility and other emergency needs.
  • Educational Training
    Seeks to provide information regarding educational opportunities as well as training in basic office procedures and computer skills; this is provided on-site, along with resume writing assistance.

  • Clothing/Blankets/Shoes/Food Baskets Distributed
    These donated items are made available to those who need them primarily during the Annual Big Feasts held each year at the George R. Brown Convention Center. During these events held on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve more than 500,000 pieces of clothing, shoes, and household items are distributed to the more than 35,000 who attend.

  • Project Peace
    School drop-out and juvenile delinquency prevention program that provides over 100 youngsters after-school and summer activities, including homework assistance, academic tutoring, recreational activities, parenting classes for their care-takers, and referrals to needed services.

  • 55 + Seniors Club
    Once a month our seniors meet at the Community Center for recreation, seminars and symposiums on Safety, Coping with Aging, Medicare and other Benefits, Cosmetics, Apparel, Cooking Classes, along with games such as Bingo, Chess and other fun activities and etc.
  • Job Referral, Placement, and Training
    Employment services are provided to almost 3,000 persons every year looking for work, or referrals to job training and intensive job placement services.  Training in basic office procedures and computer skills is provided on-site, as are resume writing assistance, job finding and retention counseling.

  • Holiday Programs
    Annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve Big Feasts of Sharing held each year at the George R. Brown Convention Center where thousands are served with not only traditional, hot, nutritious meals but also clothing, household items, shoes, blankets, coats, jackets, flu shots, medical examinations, food baskets and more.  Additionally, information is also available on affordable housing, educational and employment opportunities, where applicable.
